Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Will the age limit be calculated based on the MPT date or December 31st?
A: According to standard FPSC rules, the age cut-off date for CSS is calculated as of 31st December of the preceding year (i.e., 31st December 2026 for the CSS 2027 exam).
Q: Is there any negative marking in the MPT?
A: No, the FPSC has explicitly stated in previous years that there is no negative marking in the MPT screening test. However, candidates must still attempt questions carefully to ensure they reach the 66-mark passing threshold.
Q: Can I change my optional subjects after clearing the MPT?
A: Yes, you select your optional subjects when applying for the Written Examination in November, not during the MPT application phase. However, once the written exam application is submitted, subjects cannot be changed.
