Inclusivity and digital empowerment are at the core of the Punjab Government's 2026 vision. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated the Khud Mukhtar Program, a unique initiative dedicated entirely to the skill development and financial independence of special persons (Persons with Disabilities - PWDs).

Vision Behind Khud Mukhtar

Traditional employment often presents physical barriers for special persons. The Khud Mukhtar (Self-Reliant) Program bypasses these physical limitations by focusing exclusively on digital and IT skills. By mastering these skills, special individuals can work from the comfort of their homes as freelancers and earn a respectable livelihood.

Courses Offered (100% Free)

The program offers high-demand, market-oriented courses taught by industry experts in accessible environments. The courses include:

• Freelancing & Digital Literacy: Navigating platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and basic computer operations.
• Graphic Designing: Logo design, UI/UX, and marketing materials using Adobe Creative Cloud.
• E-Commerce Management: Setting up Amazon, Shopify, and local Daraz stores.
• Social Media Marketing: Managing Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok ad campaigns for businesses.

Facilities Provided

The Punjab government has ensured that the learning centers are fully equipped for special needs:

• Wheelchair-accessible computer labs.
• Specialized software for the visually impaired.
• Free laptops/tablets upon successful completion of the course to start their careers.
• Monthly stipend to cover travel and internet expenses during the training period.

Eligibility & Registration

Applicants must hold a valid CNIC with the disability logo or a disability certificate from the Social Welfare Department. Registration is currently open through the official Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) website and local e-Rozgaar centers. The program is completely free of cost.
