The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced several major changes and important updates for deserving women in July 2026. BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid clarified that payments will no longer be distributed through the traditional method. To prevent fraud and illegal deductions, the government has made the new Digital Wallet System and SIM Verification strictly mandatory.

Furthermore, a massive budget of Rs 716 Billion has been officially allocated for BISP in the new 2025-26 fiscal year budget. Following this allocation, both the Kafalat and educational stipends have seen a significant increase. Let’s dive into all these new changes and understand how you can easily check your payment status.

1. BISP Kafalat: New Rs 14,500 Installment

Keeping rising inflation in mind, the government has officially increased the quarterly Benazir Kafalat installment by Rs 1,000. Starting from July 2026, all eligible women will receive Rs 14,500 instead of Rs 13,500.

  • Previous Installment: Rs 13,500
  • New Installment: Rs 14,500 (Effective July 2026)

2. BISP Digital Wallet & Retail Model (New Method)

Previously, women had to visit specific campsites or agents to receive their cash, where corrupt agents often illegally deducted Rs 500 to 1000 from their stipends. To eliminate this widespread corruption, the government has introduced the Digital Wallet System.

  • Now, official digital accounts will be opened for women in verified banks (such as Bank Alfalah and HBL).
  • The money will be transferred directly to these bank accounts, allowing women to withdraw cash from any ATM or designated retailer whenever they want—without a single rupee being deducted.

3. Mandatory SIM Verification (Crucial Update)

This is arguably the most important update of the month! Under the new digital system, a digital bank account will only be opened if the mobile SIM card in use is registered against the woman's own CNIC.

āš ļø Important Alert: If the SIM in your phone is currently registered under the name of your husband, brother, or son, please visit a telecom franchise immediately to transfer the ownership to your own name. Failing to do so might cause your BISP installment to be blocked.

4. Increase in Taleemi Wazaif & Nashonuma Programs

It's not just the Kafalat amount that has been increased. The educational stipends for children (Benazir Taleemi Wazaif) and financial assistance for pregnant women (Nashonuma Program) have also been increased by Rs 500 per beneficiary.

  • Children attending primary, middle, and high schools will now receive increased stipends. (Note: A minimum of 70% school attendance remains mandatory).
  • The food and financial aid packages provided under the Nashonuma Program have also been officially updated.

Q: Is there any fee for opening a Digital Wallet?
A: Absolutely not. The process of opening a digital account or wallet by the government is completely free of charge. Do not pay any fees to any agent.

Q: What should I do if I don't have a SIM registered in my name?
A: You need to immediately visit your nearest telecom franchise (Jazz, Telenor, Zong, etc.) to get a new SIM or transfer an existing one to your CNIC. This is necessary so you can receive the Bank OTP (verification message) directly on your number.

Q: Can previously disqualified women become eligible again after these updates?
A: The government has accelerated the NSER dynamic registry survey process. If you were previously disqualified but your financial conditions have worsened, you should visit your nearest BISP office and request a fresh survey to update your status.
